Atrangi Re was officially announced on 30 January, 2020 with a movie poster. The production of the movie was stopped due to COVID-19 pandemic in India in around March, 2020.
But after a while the shooting began in July, 2020. Kumar on 4 December 2020 joined and Dhanush with Kumar finished the film in the end of December, 2020.
